On Wednesday, September 19, local MARTIN’S store associates and executives will celebrate the culmination of its bi-annual Bag Hunger campaign at the Maryland Food Bank – Western Branch. As part of the event, MARTIN’S associates will volunteer their time sorting donations before presenting a $11,624 check to the Maryland Food Bank that will benefit its statewide network of community partners. MARTIN’S Bag Hunger campaign runs twice a year. Customers donate $1 at the register to Bag Hunger in their communities. The most recent Bag Hunger Campaign ran from August 28 thru September 8 across all 171 GIANT/MARTIN’s Food Stores with a grand total of $768,090 collected from all stores. Through programs like Bag Hunger, MARTIN'S FOODS and its customers have donated more than $1 million and 366,000 meals to regional food banks to help feed hungry families.
