Arrest Warrant Served
On Thursday, December 26, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Wesley Eugene Baker 2nd on an arrest warrant. The warrant stems from an assault complaint which took place at a residence located in the 300 block of N. Centre Street on this date. Baker is charged with second assault and theft after an adult female applied for charges at District Court. Baker was served with the warrant then taken to District Court for his initial appearance and held at the Allegany County Detention center on $15,000.00.

Arrest warrant charging Baker with second degree assault and theft.
Robbery – Arrest Warrants Served
On Thursday, December 26, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Tara Lee Crawford and Timothy Lee Hairston on arrest warrants. The warrants stem from a robbery investigation which was reported to the Cumberland Police Department on December 17, 2013. On that date a male victim advised officers that he was just robbed by two subjects in the area of E. Union Street. The victim stated that he just purchased several alcoholic beverages at a business on E. Union Street when he was followed out of the store by a male and a female. The victim stated that once out on the street the female began to ask him for the alcoholic beverages. The victim stated that the male then came from behind him, pushed him down and got on top of him. The male subject then stole several of the alcoholic beverages and a small amount of currency. The victim was not injured and did not require medical treatment. Officers checked the area for the suspects and were not able to immediately locate them.
Video surveillance was reviewed and the suspects were later identified as Crawford and Hairston. Charges were applied for which resulted in the warrants being issued. Crawford and Hairston were served with the warrants then taken to District Court for their initial appearances. Crawford was held on $3,000.00 and Hairston was held on $7,500.00.

Timothy Lee Hairston – age 33 – Cumberland, MD
Charges:
Both Crawford and Hairston were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, second degree assault, and theft.
