14 year old attacked with sword

The Cumberland Times News reports a Meyersdale boy has been charged in connection with the alleged sword assault of a 14­ year ­old Hyndman boy, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The incident occurred Jan. 14 at about 8 p.m. at a residence along Large Street in Meyersdale. The victim was taken to Meyersdale Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries after being struck with a Katana sword six times, police said. The arrested youth, also age 14, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and harassment throughout the Somerset County Juvenile Probation Department, police said.
