Stabbing Suspect Sought

            Cumberland Police were called to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center early Saturday morning for a 29 year old patient who was being treated for a stab wound to the abdomen. Officers learned that the victim had been transported to the emergency room by private vehicle.

            The victim was interviewed by CPD officers and Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I). Investigators learned from the victim that he had been assaulted while trying to break up an argument/ fight between a male and a female that occurred at Jane Frazier Village, in the vicinity of building #1.

            The victim could not provide a description of the individuals involved in the argument other than they were a black male and white female with dark hair. The subject who transported the victim to the hospital also could not provide detailed information about the assault. Numerous individuals in the area were interviewed, but no one interviewed observed the incident.

             Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Cumberland Police, at 301-777-1600, or the C3I Unit, at 301-777-0326. If callers wish to remain anonymous, they can call the Allegany/Mineral County Crime Solvers at 301-722-4300, where callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1500.00 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
