Federal authorities say 19 more people, including 14 correctional officers, have been indicted in a sex and smuggling conspiracy linked to a gang at Baltimore detention centers run by Maryland’s state prison agency.

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein announced the superseding indictment Thursday in Baltimore.

Rosenstein says this brings to 44 the total number of alleged Black Guerilla Family gang members and associates charged in the case, including 27 correctional officers.

Sixteen of the 25 defendants indicted in April have pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy. They include nine correctional officers, four inmates and three drug suppliers.
