On Wednesday, 06/15/2016, members of the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit arrested 19 year old Logan Malachi O'Brien after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
The warrant is the result of an investigation by the Cumberland Police and the C3I Unit into allegations that O'Brien had inappropriate sexual contact with a 13 year old female victim, while he was serving as a lifeguard and swim team coach at the YMCA. O'Brien has since been released from employment.
With the cooperation of the YMCA, C3I Investigators were able to gather forensic evidence to support the allegations.
O'Brien was charged with 3rd Degree Sex Offense and Contributing to the Condition of a Child, as well as related charges. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance, and is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $15,000.00 bond, pending his next court appearance.
