2014 Maryland General Assembly Underway

State lawmakers returned to Annapolis last week the 2014 General Assembly got underway. Election-year politics may dominate the agenda with House Speaker Michael Busch admitting that there will be a great deal of posturing by lawmakers during the 90 day session, and Senate President Mike Miller acknowledging there will be talk of any tax hikes. While Governor Martin O’Malley contemplates a possible run for the White House, Lt Governor Anthony Brown undoubtedly will spend much of his time focused on his own gubernatorial aspirations. Brown says however he won’t allow election year politics to interfere with the business of government…
