Two Arrested In Westernport Armed Assault

Just before 6 PM Saturday, Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff's Office as well as The Maryland State Police and The Maryland Department of Natural Resource Police responded to the area of Johnson Street in Westernport for a reported assault in progress involving a shotgun or rifle. 

Deputies located two suspects leaving the scene on foot and detained them. 

Pursuant to the investigation it is alleged that 21 year old Brandon Jones, of Westernport, and 42 year old Jessica Davis, also of Westernport, were involved in an altercation with a male on Johnson Street. 

According to witnesses and the victim: Jones was in possession of a .30-06 rifle and threatened to kill the victim. A fight ensued in the street and Jessica obtained the rifle and pointed it at the victim. The two then left the scene and returned immediately without the weapon and continued in a verbal altercation. 

Law enforcement then arrived as Jones and Davis were leaving. Both Jones and Davis were arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner.

A loaded .30-06 rifle was recovered from the suspect's residence.

Both suspects were charged with:

1st Degree Assault

2nd Degree Assault

Use of a Firearm During a Commission of a Violent Crime

Disorderly Conduct 

Jones was held on $500,000 bond, while Davis was held in lieu of $50,000.  Both were taken to the Allegany County Detention Center.
