 The Cumberland Times News reports three people charged in the heroin overdose death of a Keyser woman were already in jail Thursday when they were served warrants charging them with first-degree murder in the case.


It was May 8, 2014 when a call by Daisy Stewart to the Mineral County 911 Emergency Center at 6:48 a.m. led to the discovery of a “non-responsive” 38-year-old Bobbi Jean Blacka inside Stewart’s apartment at 12 North Main St. The apartment building is commonly known as the Keyser House.


Blacka, who had her own apartment in the Keyser House, was pronounced dead at the scene. Keyser EMS personnel responded to the 911 call before Mineral County Medical Examiner Chris Guynn was called.


Blacka’s body was taken to the Potomac Valley Hospital and then to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The autopsy results were delivered to Keyser Police last week.


When Keyser Police processed the scene for possible evidence following the 911 call and discovery of Blacka’s body, investigators reportedly found drug paraphernalia inside Daisy Stewart’s apartment.


Investigators quickly learned that other persons had been there during the night and that heroin consumed there during the early-morning hours had been purchased during a trip to Cumberland sometime the night of May 7.


Keyser Police began interviews of people connected to the case. Some of their accounts of that fateful night that led to Blacka’s death were said to be “inconsistent.”


The autopsy by the state medical examiner revealed Blacka died of a heroin overdose and led Keyser Police to obtain arrest warrants for first-degree murder charges against Daisy Marie Stewart, 31, of Keyser; Stewart’s niece, Melissa May Stewart, 22 and John Henry Davis III, 36, both of Keyser, and Christian Nicole Pierce, 21, of Maysville, who was arrested on June 13 in Gilmore County where she had recently been residing.
