Maryland State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who assaulted and attempted to rob a 77 year old male while in the bathroom at Sears, located at the Country Club Mall.

Troopers responded at 2:43 pm for the incident.  The male victim was using the bathroom when he was assaulted without provocation.  The suspect attempted to rob the 77 year old male but the victim fought and defended himself before the suspect fled the area.  The victim, whose name is being withheld at this time, was transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for minor injuries sustained in the assault.
