On Saturday, at approximately 2:30 PM, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Queen City Drive for a report of an assault that just occurred. Officers were able to locate the subjects involved in the area of Baltimore Street and Park Street. Officers spoke with the victim who reported that she was assaulted by the suspect, Robert Lee Hess. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. Officers also discovered that there was a Final Protective Order in place against Hess in which he was not to contact, abuse, threaten to abuse, and/or harass the victim. Hess was placed under arrest, processed, and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bail.

CHARGES: Assault-2nd Degree, Violate Protective Order
