The Cumberland Police Department and allied agencies served 42 arrest warrants that resulted in 36 people being arrested during the most recent Operation Safe Streets warrant initiative held last week.
David Goad, program coordinator, said the goal from day one has been to remove repeat offenders from the streets of Cumberland and Allegany County. Operation Safe Streets sought citizen help in locating those wanted on open arrest warrants and police apprehended 12 of the 16 individuals whose names were released to the media for publication.
