Mount Storm man killed in Thursday accident

The Garrett County Sheriff's Office reports a  72-year-old West Virginia man died Thursday evening after his SUV was struck while he was driving on U.S. Route 50. The Thursday evening wreck occurred in Red House around 6 p.m. John Adam Delaney of Mount Storm was heading west in a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker when Renee Jean Gaither, 51, of Eglon, W.Va., failed to stop for a traffic signal while traveling north on U.S. Route 219 in a 2005 Dodge van. Southern Garrett Rescue Squad transported Delaney to Garrett Memorial Hospital, where he died from unknown injuries. Gaither was charged for failing to obey a traffic signal. Gorman Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
