5 vehicle accident, two injured

On Friday morning at 10:06 , the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of McMullen Hwy (BelAir) for a m/v accident with injuries. Investigation of the accident revealed the following information. ALL vehicels were traveling southbound on McMullen Hwy, a 2010 Ford Truck operated by Gene Keister had slowed and awaited oncoming traffic in preparation of a safe left turn. The vehicle following Keister, a 2005 Jeep operated by David Stevey slowed as well and was then struck from behind by a 2003 Chevrolet Tracker operated by Jonathan Lancaster. The Lancaster vehicle was then struck by a 2008 Nissan operated by Chelsea Smearman. A fifth vehicle a 2002 Ford operated by Howard Lease then collided into the Smearman vehicle. The parties of two vehicles were transported by Cresaptown EMS. The operators of three of the five vehicles involved were charges with "failing to avoid speed to avoid a collision".
