It was 50 years ago this week that a B-52 carrying two atomic bombs crashed in a snowstorm new Grantsville.
Gerry Beachy has lived in the area all of his life and has clear memories of the morning after the crash…
Beachy said thousands of local residents turned out to help find the crew. Three died as a result of the crash, two survived but have since passed away.
