The Maryland State Department of Health reports that seven Marylanders are being tested for the coronavirus.
As of Tuesday, seven Maryland cases of the coronavirus are pending tests with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Altogether, 13 state patients have been tested and six have come back negative.
Gov. Larry Hogan is set to make a formal request of $10 million from lawmakers later this week to help address the coronavirus in the state.
Health officials advise citizens to wash their hands frequently, cover their mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing and stay home when ill. Anyone who returns to Maryland from China is asked to monitor their health for 14 days after leaving China.
Americans have been warned to avoid travel to China and South Korea if possible and to consider restricting travel to Italy and Japan.
