On Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to a disturbance.  Upon the officers arrival two females were observed arguing on the sidewalk in front of this residence.  One of the females identified as Shawn Sugden continued to yell and scream even after being told to lower her voice numerous times by officers on the scene.  Sugden failed to comply with officer's orders and due to her creating a disturbance by yelling several subjects began to gather in the area.  Sugden was then placed under arrest due to her disorderly behavior.  Sugden was transported to Police Headquarters for processing and then was taken to District Court for her initial appearance and held on a total of $2,000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Arrested:

Shawn Elaine Sugden – age 41 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, and Failure to Obey a Lawful Order.

 

Arrest Warrant Served_____________Wednesday, May 15, 2013

On Wednesday, May 15, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Andrew Wade Ridgeley on an arrest warrant.  The warrant stems from a fraud investigation which took place between the dates of February 13, 2013 and February14, 2013.  On those dates Ridgeley is being charged with the fraudulent use of a credit card.  Ridgeley was served with the warrant and taken to District Court for his initial appearance.  Ridgeley was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Arrested:

Andrew Wade Ridgeley – age 27 – Mount Savage, MD

Charges:

Fraud-personal identification information for theft, 7 counts of the illegal use of a credit card.

 

Arrest Warrant Served______________Wednesday, May 15, 2013

On Wednesday, May 15, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Rodricus Marquees Wilkes.  The warrant stems from an investigation of a reported unauthorized use of a motor vehicle which took place on May 14, 2013.  The victim stated that she left Wilkes borrow the vehicle but he was supposed to return the vehicle after a couple hours and never did.  The victim was not able to make contact with Wilkes and then contacted the police to assist her in getting her vehicle back.  Charges were applied for against Wilkes through District Court.  Wilkes was taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was released on his personal recognizance.

Arrested:

Rodricus Marquees Wilkes – age 25 – Baltimore, MD

Charges:

Driving a vehicle without the owner's consent with the intent to deprive the owner, and unauthorized removal of property.

 

Shoplifting______________________Wednesday, May 15, 2013

On Wednesday, May 15, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with employees of the business who pointed out two suspects that were observed stealing items.  Contact was then made with Dixie Lee Grimm and her adult son, Robert Joseph Grimm.  Dixie admitted to stealing the items from the store.  Dixie concealed several items in her purse than handed the purse to Robert and had him take the purse to their vehicle.  Store employees also pointed out additional items that Dixie had concealed but she dropped them in the store when she saw Officers arrive.

Both Dixie Grimm and Robert Grimm were issued criminal citations charging them with theft.  The store manager then issued "no trespassing letters" to both subjects to keep them from entering this store in the future.

Arrested:

Dixie Lee Grimm – age 56 – Keyser, WV

Robert Joseph Grimm – age 32 – Keyser, WV

Charges:

Both were charged with theft on criminal citations and released from the scene.
