The Allegany County Public School System will extend the end of the second marking period of the 2014-2015 school year as a result of losing four instructional days due to inclement weather.
The end of the second marking period/first semester will now be on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, with a three-hour early dismissal on Thursday, January 22, 2015. The afternoon will be used for teacher work time. Friday, January 16, 2015, will now be a full day for students. Report card distribution has been delayed until Monday, February 2, 2015.
Additionally, the school board voted to reclaim the Thursday before Easter, April 2, 2015, as a snow make-up day. This day will now be a three-hour early dismissal for students.
