January 27th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Public Schools issued the following statement Monday afternoon:

Washington Middle School was placed in lock down earlier today, as a precaution, while school administrators worked to resolve an issue with a student. The lock down only lasted for a short period of time after which normal school and classroom activities resumed with minimal disruption to the instructional day. All school system procedures were followed to ensure that no students or staff members were in any danger. Washington's school administrators were assisted by Cumberland City Police.
