A strong performance at the Paul Short Run allowed Philadelphia University’s Sergei Cendo (Cumberland, Pa./Allegany) to earn his second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men’s cross country runner of the week award Monday.

The Rams’ first repeat CACC runner of the week since Eric Lacy on Sept. 30 and Oct. 6, 2014, Cendo finished ninth of out 266 runners with an 8-kilometer time of 26 minutes, 39 seconds—his second-best career time at that distance. He was the first of the 41 runners representing a CACC school to cross the finish line.

Cendo has been Philadelphia’s fastest runner in all four of the team’s races and has three top-10 finishes to his credit. At The Osprey Open on Sept. 24, Cendo recorded his career-best 8K time of 26:27.

Philadelphia returns to action in the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Championship at Belmont Plateau on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1:15 p.m.
