Allegany County Public Schools confirmed that a situation involving a threat was reported at Allegany High School Tuesday morning, and issued the following statement:
"A threatening message was discovered at Allegany High School and immediately reported to school administrators. Law enforcement officials from the Cumberland City Police Department deemed the threat to be non-credible. There was no imminent threat to students or staff, and there was no disruption to the instructional day. As a precaution, there will be increased police presence at the school. School officials will continue to work in cooperation with the CPD as an investigation into this incident continues."
