March 8th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

Two women wanted in connection for allegedly shoplifting at the Kohls store in LaVale were located early Wednesday afternoon when an alert off-duty Frostburg State University police communications officer observed their vehicle at the Frostburg Sheetz, according to the Frostburg Police Department.

The suspects were located a day after an attempt-to-locate bulletin was posted by Maryland State Police and the same day photographs from Kohls store cameras were published by the Times-News. The information shared with police agencies included the display of an FSU sticker on the suspect vehicle.

Frostburg Police Department responded to the store parking lot along with FSU Police and Maryland State Police.

Frostburg Police charged Miyani Vaughn, 19, of Frostburg, and Chezmin B. Suter, 20, of Catonsville, with theft after finding items that were taken from Sheetz inside their vehicle.

Police said Vaughn was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and displaying ficticious tags. Charges against Suter for possession of marijuana are pending from when she was contacted by police in Frostburg shortly after 1 p.m.

Frostburg Police impounded the maroon Dodge Durango that was involved in the incident.

The alleged thefts Tuesday at the Kohl store remain under investigation by state police.

Police said both women were formerly enrolled at FSU.
