Allegany Co. Board of Education Votes To Request Removal Of Wayne Foote From Board

December 24th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

At a special Friday afternoon meeting that lasted just ten minutes, the Allegany County Board of Education voted 4-1 to formally request the state board of education to remove Wayne Foote from the local board for willful neglect of duty and misconduct. The official resolution points to acts of intimation and harassment by Foote against board personnel as well as breaching the confidentially of school board executive sessions. The vote, likely the last taken by the current board, saw members Sara Beth Bittinger, Tammy Fraley, Nick Hadley and Laurie Marchini vote in approval of the resolution- with Foote voting in opposition. Board member Marchini said that there have been attempts over the years to resolve the issues internally, but those ultimately fell on deaf ears…

Board vice president Fraley said it now becomes important for the community to allow the process to play out…

Foote made no comment, while his attorney George McKinley told WCBC News that he plans to fight the issue and anticipates the process could be lengthy…
