Allegany County Government’s budgeting process is underway for FY 2017 and a series of hearings will be conducted this month for the county to hear budget requests from each county-funded department and agency. The first hearings are set for this coming Thursday afternoon. Finance Director Jason Bennett reports that it will be a tight fiscal year, and he is urging departments to hold the line and to not expect significant budget increases. He also hopes to see the county be able to avoid dipping into its reserve fund this year…
