Allegany County’s Second Annual Restaurant Week coming up

August 21st, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County, Maryland, will showcase their collection of restaurants with the return of the county’s second annual Restaurant Week, scheduled August 24-September 2, 2018.

Coordinated by Allegany County Tourism, Allegany County Restaurant Week will feature prix fixe menus designed by participating restaurants to entice visitors to experience the flavors of the area.

“The culinary experience is an important factor of any travel destination,” stated Ashli Workman, director of tourism. “Restaurant Week is a promotion designed to highlight local dining within our community, boost business, and ultimately celebrate great food, entrepreneurship, and the economic impact locally-owned restaurants have in a community.”

The Restaurant Week concept began in New York City in 1992. The success of the event led to an annual event, and over the years, the concept has been widely adopted and adapted by small and large cities and organizations across the country.

A list of participating area restaurants, their menus, and frequently asked questions can be found at www.alleganycountyrestaurantweek.com. There are no tickets, passes or coupons required. Simply dine out at a participating restaurant August 24-September 2, 2018, to take advantage of their special offers. Promotional pricing may be offered for lunch and/or dinner. Some restaurants may offer promotional pricing for one meal, rather than both. Gratuity and tax are not included in any of the promotional pricing.
