Bishop Walsh principal Shelby Webb announced Wednesday that Mike Allen has been appointed head football coach for the 2013 season. Allen and Michael Fields led the Spartans in the final two games of the 2012 campaign when the squad finished 9-1. Allen has been at the school for several years, coaching under former head football coaches Mike Page and Geno Taylor. He has also coached the JV boys basketball team for two years, leading the team to a 24-0 record in 2012. Allen was a guest on the Dave Norman Show this morning, and commented that this is his time to lead.
