The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce on Friday held its annual pre-legislative session breakfast at the downtown Cumberland Ramada. State Senator George Edwards said although half of the local delegation has changed as a result of last month’s election, the new group is working well together and he believes there will be strong representation in Annapolis for western Maryland. Delegate 1C elect Mike Mckay says his initial plans include an effort to reduce the state corporate tax; Delegate Wendell Beitzel say he’ll continue to work to see highway user funds restored; and 1B-elect Jason Buckel discussed the importance of making sure Allegany and Garrett counties have a voice downstate.
