Another step toward officially finalizing the three way deal that will lead to the new Allegany High School being built at the site of the former Sacred Heart Hospital can be crossed off the list. On Tuesday, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council took action to formally transfer a tract of land off of Willowbrook Road adjacent to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center to the Western Maryland Health System. The agreement, reached this past summer, included Cumberland transferring that land to the health system on exchange for the health system donating the former Braddock Campus to the Board of Education to build the new school upon.
