Fort Hill High School Football Coach Todd Appel is among the Top 5 vote getters in US Cellular's Top 50 High School Coach voting.
According to the press release: These 50 coaches were nominated by you, and then selected by judges, for going far and beyond the Xs and Os. They've not only made an impact on their players and their teams, but also on their communities. Now it's up to you to decide which among them will advance to the Final 15.
Nominators say: Coach Todd Appel has repeatedly led his team to playoff games and has won the state championship for three years running. His motto for himself and his team is God, family, academics and football. He is firm, but cares for every player. He leads by example and is well-respected throughout the community. He's a great football coach but also instills values in his boys, and his leadership helps prepare them for life after high school.
