The Mineral Tribune reports a Paw Paw man has been charged with burglary and kidnapping stemming from an incident in which he forced a female victim to drive him to an undisclosed location in Hampshire County. According to the West Virginia State Police, Burt W.  Gayleard Jr., 40, of Paw Paw, was taken into custody Tuesday at approximately 3:30 p.m. by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Halethorpe, Maryland, for the charges of burglary and kidnapping. The charges stem from an incident on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, investigated by Cpl. J. E. Whisner of the WVSP Keyser Detachment. On that date, Gayleard had entered a former acquaintance’s home, a Mineral County resident near Fort Ashby, and forced the 37-year old-female victim, by threat of force, into her car to drive him to an undisclosed location off Jersey Mountain Road in Hampshire County.
