The Cumberland Times News reports that a  Keyser man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Saturday night robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on South Mineral Street. Two more suspects have been identified in the case, according to Keyser Police Chief Karen Shoemaker.

A joint investigation by Keyser Police, the C3I Unit in Cumberland, and the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department led to the early Tuesday arrest of Stephen Lee Mayhew, 49, of D Street.

Mayhew was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and accessory to robbery and was jailed later in the day on $100,000 bond set by Mineral County Magistrate Sue Roby.

Shoemaker said a search warrant executed at Mayhew’s residence early Monday evening, coupled with police interviews of Mayhew before and after the warrant was executed, prompted the arrest.

The chief said warrants were expected to be obtained Tuesday for two additional suspects who are wanted in connection with the CVS robbery where painkillers Oxycodone and Fentanyl were taken at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators received anonymous information that pointed to Mayhew as a possible suspect. Police also obtained evidence from the robbery when they searched Mayhew’s residence in the first block of D Street.
