On 11/15/14 at 9:48pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 800blk of Gephart Dr in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival Officer’s contacted the victim who advised that a verbal argument took place which turned physical. The victim had a minor injury consistent with their account of the incident which did not require medical attention. As a result, 45 year old John Michael Devore was placed under arrest. While on the scene it was learned that Devore had been served with an Ex Parte Order prohibiting him from being at the residence and having contact with one of the occupants. Devore was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was processed and charged with one count of second degree assault and violation of an Ex Parte Order. Devore was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a $2,500 bond.
