On Friday officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 917 Maryland Avenue for a report of a Domestic Disturbance.   When officers arrived on the scene contact was made with the victim.   During an investigation into the matter officers learned from the victim that his son, Steven Largent Musgrove Jr. came home earlier in the evening under the influence of an unknown substance.   Musgrove apparently got upset with his parents when they refused to give him money.  Musgrove began to yell and threatening his mother.   The victim stepped between Musgrove and his wife when he was shoved into the wall by Musgrove.   Musgrove was able to grab the victim around the neck taking him to the ground.   The victim said he felt Musgrove trying to stab him in the left side with an unknown weapon.   The victim was able to grab a large glass jug from the shelf in the living room.   Fearing that he would be seriously injured by Musgrove he struck him in the side of the head with the jug.   Musgrove sustained several lacerations as a result of the altercation and had to be taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by CFD.   After being released from the hospital, officers took Musgrove into custody and transported him to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.

As a result of the arrest, Steven Largent Musgrove Jr. was charged with one count of 2nd degree assault.   Musgrove was taken before the District Court Commissioner and held $10,000 bond in the Allegany County Detention Center.
