Assault Arrests Made Overnight

On Friday at 3:15pm, officers from the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 500blk of Linden St for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers obtained a statement from the victim who stated that an argument began over medications. The suspect then punched the victim in the nose causing it to bleed. Jessica Miller, 27, was arrested and charged with one count of Second Degree Assault. She is being held ordered on a $3,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

On Friday night at 8:49pm Cumberland City Police officers responded to a residence in the 200blk of Baltimore St in reference to an assault. Officers interviewed several witnesses who stated a man had begun arguing with a female and then pulled a knife on her holding it to her throat. Jeffrey Youngblood, 44, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of second degree assault, first degree assault, and reckless endangerment. He is currently being held on a $30,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
