Audit Of BOE Catches Attention Of Commissioners & Delegation

A perceived lack or urgency on the part of the Allegany County Board of Education administration to address findings identified by a state audit has caught the attention of both the County Commissioners and the District One Legislative Delegation- however it may not be accurate.  The audit cited the school system for 19 “findings” with critical comments.  Superintendent David Cox and Finance Director Randy Bittinger told WCBC News that the findings are recommendations and that there is no penalty attached. School Board member Mike Llewellyn addressed the issue on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” and said that while the board doesn’t necessarily agree with all of the findings, the board is not at all dismissing the report…
