Authority Still In Negotiations With Potential Footer Dye Works Developer

It’s been close to three months since two potential developers for the Footer Dye Works building were chosen,  and negotiations began- but to date, no deal has been struck. Officials with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority said very little during the public portion of Tuesday’s regular monthly meeting- although it was listed for discussion as part of the executive, or closed session that followed. Dee Dee Ritchie, executive director of Canal Place, told WCBC News late last month that the Authority was still in negotiations with a potential developer, with the hope being to make an announcement at the next meeting. That did not happen. When asked for an update, Authority Chair Rick Thayer would only say that talks are ongoing….
