Avery Sentenced to 14 Years for Cocaine Distribution

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Monday, July 8th, Benjamin Lawrence Avery Jr., 29 of Cumberland, Maryland was sentenced to 14 years (straight time) to the Maryland Department of Correction. Avery plead guilty to Distribution of Cocaine in front of the Honorable Judge James L. Sherbin on April 11, 2019.

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, into the distribution and sales of cocaine in the Allegany County area.

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by Michael A. Stankin, Esq

    These scum should get much longer sentences! 25 years to life! get these scum out of the public! make it so long, they may never get out! They should die in their!

      > At least he isn’t eligible for parole. Probably a few cases that no parole was used in a drug case. Straight means no parole.
