Baltimore Man Sentenced For Drug Distribution

The Allegany County State’s Attorney’s Office, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced the sentencing of Christopher Ian Carter, Jr., 25, of Baltimore in the Allegany County Circuit Court.  Mr. Carter was sentenced to 8 years in the Maryland Department of Corrections with 4 of those years suspended for his conviction of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.  Carter was arrested on August 16th, 2013 when a search and seizure warrant was executed on a room he was occupying in a local hotel.  When officers entered the room they found Mr. Carter with a large amount of crack cocaine and other paraphernalia used in the sale of narcotics. 

 

Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane prosecuted the case for the State.  Mr. Carter was represented by David Schram of the Office of the Public Defender.  The Honorable Timothy Finan presided over the case.
