For his leadership role in overseeing a recent boom in economic development activities- Allegany County’s Jeff Barclay has been named “WCBC’s Person of the Year” for 2015.  The annual award, modeled after the Time Magazine Person of the Year,  features and profiles a local person, group, idea or object that "for better or for worse…has done the most to influence the events of the year”.  Barclay, who serves as Allegany County’s Economic Development and Community Development Specialist, has been at the forefront of seeing some  $20 million in economic development investments by private firms over the past six months- with much more expected in the coming year. Among the expanding or new businesses of 2015, Webstaurant; a new Holiday Inn Express; and the grand opening of the Winchester Court Shopping Center. On the horizon for 2016, a new Sheetz; a Cracker Barrel Restaurant; and a new Buffalo Wild Wings.  Allegany County Commissioners President Bill Valentine tells WCBC News that the recognition of Barclay is well deserved…
