Bedford C.O. Charged With Drug Offenses

A Bedford County corrections officer was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly met an undercover state police officer for the purpose of obtaining Oxycontin pills that would then deliver to an inmate of the Bedford County Correctional Facility. Timothy David Crognale, 26, Central City, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, contraband and criminal use of a communication facility. Crognale was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kathy Calhoun and bail was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 4 at 9 a.m.
