Beitzel Sees Gun Control Passing; Wants Alterations

April 3rd, 2013 by WCBC Radio

With the Maryland General Assembly winding down in Annapolis, Governor Martin O'Malley's gun control legislation is currently the hot-button issue being addressed on the floor of the House of Delegates. Considerations and changes are being made this week in attempt to address security and safety, but also consider Second Amendment rights. Delegate Wendell Beitzel commented that even with some needed changes, there are points within the bill he agrees with, and ultimately sees the measure passing.

After nearly six hours of debate, the House gave preliminary approval to the bill on Tuesday night, defeating 20 amendments proposed to alter the measure.
