A bill being introduced by Delegate Wendell Beitzel would see millions of dollars that counties and municipalities have lost over the past few years for road and highway maintenance being restored. There has been a sharp decline in those funds locally and instead diverted to other purposes- including mass transit in urban areas around the state. Beitzel’s bill would increase the funding in increminents back to 20 percent of total revenue over three years beginning in FY 2016.
