Bidder Selected for Study on Footer Dye Works

May 22nd, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Although the contract hasn’t been finalized,  Doug Reed of the Maryland Historic Trust reported that a low bidder has been selected to perform an engineering study on the Footer Dye Works building. During a meeting of the Canal Place Preservation & Development Authority on Tuesday, the news on the historic building was met with enthusiasm as the authority continues with its plans to revitalize the brick structure. It was hoped the contract could have been wrapped up earlier this month, but some last minute details are still being worked out. Reed said the study will enable a more open dialogue with potential developers as it will identify any problem areas in the building or on the roof that need to be addressed.
