WCBC News has learned that the Blue Bridge, from Cumberland to Ridgeley, was shut down for a period Saturday afternoon after authorities received reports of an individual in the river.
The individual was pulled from the river by a companion, and was transported to Western Maryland Health System by Cumberland Fire Department ambulance, according to the Times-News. The victim was conscious after the rescue.
We expect to have a police report on the incident later today.
