Board Audit could be Submitted This Week

Barring any last minute obstacles, the Allegany County Board of Education should be able to submit it’s long overdue audit report to the county commissioners this week. The audit, due October 1st of last year, has been a point of consternation for the commissioners as the county  is now considered out of compliance by its state and federal funding partners and could have funding withheld. The audit is on the board’s agenda for tonight’s public meeting. School Board finance director Larry Mckenzie, in a recent interview with WCBC News said that the nearly ten month delay is  the result of dealing with  new software- while also having to complete  a separate legislative audit from the state…

    I guess that the tried and true “my dog ate it” was getting a little old at that.
    That bunch must think us a bunch of yabos who are still completely baffled by computers and will believe a 10 month battle with new software.
    I have this little tip, if you spend more than 5 months on hold for technical support just hang up.
