Board Of Education To Review Legislative Audit

The Board of Education of Allegany County will hold a special work session next Tuesday at the Central Office and at that time will provide additional details and a review of the recently completed Legislative Audit. In addition, the Superintendent’s proposed budget will be presented. The audit was not particularly flattering for the board with more than a dozen findings. A perceived lack of urgency on the part of the superintendent and some board members to address the issues found in the audit caught the attention of both the county commissioners and the legislative delegation. Superintendent David Cox tells WCBC News that the board hasn’t dismissed the audits findings, but emphasized that such reports are subjective and there are some areas of disagreement.
