Board of Education Uneasy on Hogan’s Stance on Education

With new leadership taking office in Annapolis come January, there is a level of anxiety on the part of some members of the Allegany County Board of Education with much uncertainty and unknowns about how the next administration will address education funding. Maryland’s governor-elect, republican Larry Hogan will be inheriting a $1.7 billion structural deficit. After eight years of the relatively education friendly O’Malley administration, school board members aren’t certain what to expect once Hogan is sworn in. The subject was discussed during this month’s work session and business meeting of the board.
