As expected, the Allegany County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday night to rescind the earlier funding package for the new Allegany High School- and at the same time approved the go ahead to pursue a new funding plan. The school board is trying to find ways to close a funding gap on the new school, which has been estimated as high as $20 million. However with the potential for ten million additional dollars from the state, and the county’s recent allocation of an additional four million- the funding gap has been closed considerably.
