One of the longer budget processes in recent memory officially came to a close Tuesday afternoon when the Allegany County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the superintendent’s recommended budget for FY 2013. As a result of the state not finalizing its actual budget until mid- May, local governments and boards of education were delayed in putting together their fiscal plans. With the county receiving a disparity grant to cover the cost of the teacher pension shift- Board Finance Director Randy Bittinger said that the school system will actually see a slight increase in funding this year…
