The Allegany County Board of Education Tuesday authorized their attorney to proceed to closing for the transfer of the Western Maryland Health System’s Braddock Campus to the Board of Education. The 26-acre site will be used by the school system as the site for the construction of the new Allegany High School. Superintendent David Cox said that it is exciting to be another step closer to a new Allegany High School, and that the board is appreciative to the Western Maryland Health System and the City of Cumberland for working so diligently with the board to acquire the site…
